Coconino County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Flagstaff Unit, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and thusly eligible to accept fully tax-deductible donations.
Each member of our SAR team must supply all of their own personal equipment, including backpacks, footwear, survival items and most clothing, personal safety gear, and technical rescue equipment. The Sheriff’s Office provides facilities, vehicles, communications equipment, team gear, and training.

We use funds raised through donations, grants, and team members to supplement training expenses, purchase team gear, and offer Preventative Search and Rescue (PSAR) events and materials.

All donations received by the non-profit go into a general fund controlled by our Board of Directors. The Board is made up of elected, active members of the team.

Search and Rescue in Coconino is varied, and often distant from resources, so we actively pursue grants to further our mission to provide professional, modern, and effective SAR services to everyone in our 18,661 mi². We are always looking for grants that could benefit our team, so please reach out if you have something in mind.
